The entire Ionic Creator team would like to wish you a Happy New Year and thank you for supporting us! Since releasing the stable version of Creator, we’ve had an overwhelming amount of positive support. We’ve seen over 48,000 people check out the new version and make over 65,000 new apps–what an awesome way to end 2015!

2016 is going to be a great year for Creator, and we’re already working on some exciting new features. But we can’t do it alone, so today we’re pleased to announce our first new “Community” feature: Community Videos.

Our own Creator Tutorial videos have been watched by tens of thousands of people already, and we are now opening up a new section in the dashboard called “Community Videos,” which you can watch from inside our existing tutorial section.

The first Community Video to go live is by Jedi Master Raymond Camden. He enjoys taking long walks across the vast deserts of Tatooine and truly believes in his heart that Han Solo shot first.

In his tutorial, Static to Dynamic with Ionic Creator, he will walk you through creating a static Ionic prototype in Creator and show you how to turn it into a real, fully-functioning dynamic app backed by the Star Wars API.

We know a lot of you have been asking “what comes next?” after you’re done prototyping and exporting your app in Creator, and this tutorial answers that question splendidly. Plus, it involves Star Wars, so what’s not to love?

You can watch Raymond’s video below (or find it in the Help Videos section of your Dashboard):

Read along with the video and download the source code on his blog.

If you have an idea for a Creator tutorial video you’d like to make, just contact us, and we’ll help you plan it out and get it in our Community section! Be sure to include any links to other videos you’ve made, too.

May the force be with you this New Year, and may your apps be amazing!
