Great, I’ll test it. Thanks for your effort!

  • http://www.raymondcamdencom/ Raymond Camden

Hmm, just did npm install -g ionic and I’m still seeing 2.1.18.

    • http://www.sprypixels.com Dayo

Try doing npm uninstall -g ionic

      • http://www.raymondcamdencom/ Raymond Camden

I did – see my new issue above. 🙂

  • vlados

Guys, I don’t want to be rude but did you even test anything before releasing. I am seeing bugs in every released version. Bug of the day: when you select template: template is showing in console: Error with start Error: No starter template named “”

    • yesimahuman

Thanks for the bug report. Getting testing was the goal of this release, it’s not production ready yet and this is the first release yet.

    • yesimahuman

Not able to reproduce. Got a screenshot or console output for this? Make sure you updated to 2.2.0 and your ionic info shows ionic-app-lib 2.2.0. try `npm uninstall -g ionic` then `npm install -g ionic`

      • yesimahuman

nvm, see it in the plain start command, fixing

        • yesimahuman

This has been fixed and 2.2.1 is out.

          • bowing

Get the same error in 2.2.1. In the browser the error is “Unexpected string in JSON at position 56” .

  • http://www.raymondcamdencom/ Raymond Camden

So on Windows I uninstalled and tried to reinstall – now I get:

    – UNMET PEER DEPENDENCY typescript@^2.0.2

    • http://www.raymondcamdencom/ Raymond Camden

Ok, running with Admin priv worked. 🙂

  • modemlooper

    sweet!

  • Matheus

For me, worked pretty well. I just had to uninstall (globally) Ionic and Cordova and install it again. After that everything worked well. But I have a suggestion: In register step, the skip option should be more visible. Great work.

  • http://www.raymondcamdencom/ Raymond Camden

In the console, I’m seeing this error:

http://ionicframework.com/img/meta/android-192×192.png Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)

    Seems harmless, but FYI.

  • http://www.raymondcamdencom/ Raymond Camden

Error report. I named my app: My App foo//////\/

And I ended up with this error: Unexpected token U in JSON at position 48

    • yesimahuman

thanks, I see it now, getting around to windows debugging for this. Thanks!

      • yesimahuman

Got a fix in, should go out in the next release. Thanks again Ray!

  • http://www.raymondcamdencom/ Raymond Camden

Ok, so far, in Windows, it fails to complete. It gets to “Installing npm packages”, and then I get the JSON error I reported earlier (when I was trying to break it 😉

Unexpected token U in JSON at position 48

Do monkeys really needed that thing? O.o

    • aluknot

yes, not everyone is as smart as you

  • Maziar Fotouhi

First of all, thank you so much for all the effort.

    I’m seeing this warning:

(node:1785) DeprecationWarning: Using Buffer without `new` will soon stop working. Use `new Buffer()`, or preferably `Buffer.from()`, `Buffer.allocUnsafe()` or `Buffer.alloc()` instead.

and then the console stops at this step and never passes this:

Installing npm packages (may take a minute or two)…

    My system info:

    Cordova CLI: 6.4.0
    Ionic Framework Version: 2.0.0-rc.5
    Ionic CLI Version: 2.2.1
    Ionic App Lib Version: 2.2.0
    Ionic App Scripts Version: 1.0.0
    ios-deploy version: 1.9.0
    ios-sim version: 5.0.13
    OS: macOS Sierra
    Node Version: v7.2.0
Xcode version: Xcode 8.2.1 Build version 8C1002

I tried to start a menu app. Had to stop the command and then ran “ionic lab”. The generated apps were fine except for the android one. The menu items in the android one do not have any text (but work when I click on them). And the second page on the android one does not have any text either (has all the icons though).

Have not tested this on a device.

    • yesimahuman

Thanks, we don’t support Node 7 yet but need to do some testing, I’m guessing it’s related?

  • aluknot

    nice feature!!!

  • Jefferson Souza

Works great at Ubuntu 16.04 with NodeJS 6.7.0!

PS.: I had to uninstall and install again (globally)

    Great work!

  • Jefferson Souza

Well, I arrive at home and try to upgrade to 2.2.1 on MacOS Sierra and I’m having the checksum error:

Windows 10 x64 Pro – updated to 2.2.1 work seemlessly using “npm update -g ionic”

Running “ionic start” produce a “This site cannot be reached web page” for http://localhost:8900 :(. Anyone have any suggestions please? Thanks.

Works like a charm. Thank you.

There was an error starting your app. Please see your terminal for more information and try running ionic lab manually in the terminal.

Just checking – any updates? I never got this working on Windows last week.

  • Daniel Cregg

Starts out great. But during App install phase i suddenly get an error on on the webpage saying “Directory already exists. Please use a unique app directory name”

  • CroModder

Tried running “ionic start” but nothing happens. It just hangs for around 10 seconds and exits, no error… nothing.
